Let me start out by quoting Rita Levi-Montalcini who said “It's not enough what I did in the past - there is also the future.”

That being said, the city of Idaho Falls is an outstanding place to live with a great quality of life. We have 3 beautiful and affordable golf courses along with many other programs and parks for recreation. Our zoo is the “Best Little Zoo” in the West.

Our Police, Fire, and EMS departments are made up of dedicated men and women, and are top notch as are all of our city employees. For the past 16 years, our city has been recognized for its sound financial status and reporting. In that same time, our levy rate has dropped by 10%. Because of good public works management, we have been able to keep our water, sewer, and sanitation rates low, along with completing Sunnyside and Hitt roads. In addition, our power rates are among the lowest in the entire nation.

We have built an animal shelter, the Westside Fire Station, a skateboard park, Melaleuca Ball Field, a city garage, the Westside Soccer Complex, a fiber optic network around the city, expanded downtown parking, along with many other infrastructure items - and all by properly saving money and not bonding taxpayers.

I believe all of these are reasons why we were able to attract AREVA to our area, and we anticipate this will be a tremendous boost to our economy over the next few years.

I pledge to the residents of Idaho Falls to continue to work hard and do my best each and every day.
